  • A DRS is the official, legal document that proves to the Colorado Department of Revenue (DMV) and the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) that you have completed your court-ordered or DMV-mandated hours.

    • DRS forms will be provided within 10 business days of completing your treatment requirements.

    • A copy of your DRS will be placed in your client portal and emailed to the email address on file.

    • A copy of your DRS will be provided to your PO and the DMV with valid Releases of Information on file.

  • 1. Reinstating Your Driver's License

The DMV will not let you reinstate your license after a DUI until they see a DRS that matches the Track (A, B, C, or D) they assigned to you. Even if you finish your classes, you are not done in the eyes of the state until this document is generated and uploaded.

    2. Closing Your Probation Case

Your Probation Officer (PO) needs the DRS to prove to the judge that you have met the terms of your sentencing. Without it, you could be flagged for non-compliance even if you attended every group.

    3. Transferring to a New Agency

If you move or need to switch providers, the new agency cannot give you credit for the hours you already did unless you provide them with a DRS from your previous facility.

  • Enhanced Therapy is an additional level of care for clients currently enrolled in DUI treatment. This requirement is typically determined by your Probation Officer (PO), the court, or your clinician based on your specific treatment needs.

When enrolled in Enhanced Therapy, your program intensity increases to a minimum of twice per week. This consists of:

    1. Your primary DUI group session.

    2. A secondary group or an individual session each week.

Because we are a 100% remote agency, both of these weekly sessions are conducted via secure Zoom, making it easier for you to meet this increased requirement without the added burden of additional travel or time off work.

  • Level II Four Plus is a specialized treatment track mandated by the State of Colorado for individuals with a history of four or more DUI or DWAI offenses. Because this track addresses long-term patterns of substance use, it is more intensive than standard Level II Education and Therapy.

    Key Requirements of Four Plus:

    • Duration: The program typically lasts a minimum of 18 months.

    • Clinical Components: It involves a combination of specialized group therapy, individual counseling, and ongoing case management.

    • Phased Approach: The program is divided into distinct phases that focus on different stages of recovery, starting with intensive stabilization and moving toward long-term maintenance.

    • Multidisciplinary Team: At Counseling Center of the Rockies, our clinical team works closely with you to create a customized treatment plan that meets state requirements while focusing on your specific recovery goals.

The Remote Advantage for Four Plus: Since Four Plus is a long-term commitment, our 100% remote model is particularly beneficial. It allows you to maintain your work and family schedule over the course of the 18-month program without the added stress of commuting to an office twice a week.

  • We currently accept Medicaid and Medicare for those with a substance use disorder diagnosis. We are working on accepting other major insurance companies.

  • At Counseling Center of the Rockies, we take your privacy and the security of your clinical records very seriously. As a 100% telehealth agency, we utilize industry-leading technology to ensure your information remains protected in a digital environment.

    Our Privacy Protections include:

    • HIPAA Compliance: Our business model and internal procedures are strictly aligned with HIPAA regulations, ensuring all electronic health records are encrypted and secure.

    • Secure Platforms: We use ReliaTrax and specialized, HIPAA-compliant Zoom conferencing to ensure your group and individual sessions remain private.

    • Controlled Disclosure: We only release information to third parties (such as your Attorney or Probation Officer) if we have a current, written Release of Information (ROI) on file, or as specifically required by Colorado state law.

    • Encrypted Portals: Your personal details, payment information, and legal documents are handled through secure, encrypted portals, providing you with peace of mind while you complete your program.

  • At Counseling Center of the Rockies, our sessions are structured to meet state requirements while providing high-quality clinical engagement. Because we are 100% remote, it is important to be logged into your session a few minutes early to ensure your audio and video are working properly.

    • DUI & Standard Treatment Groups: All group sessions are 2 hours in length.

    • Grief Support Groups: These specialized sessions run for 1.5 hours.

    • Individual Sessions: Private clinical sessions are typically 50 to 60 minutes.

Important Note for State Credit: To receive full credit for your attendance, you must be present and visible on camera for the entirety of the session. Arriving more than 10 minutes late or leaving early may result in a loss of credit for that day.

  • Consistent attendance in your treatment program is the most effective way to ensure long-term success and maintain compliance with state mandates. While we understand that work, family, and personal challenges can arise, your scheduled sessions are a court and/or DMV requirement and must be treated as a priority.

    Client Responsibility

    • Reporting Absences: If you know you will be unable to attend a session, you must report your absence to our administrative team as soon as possible.

    • Documentation: All absences are documented in your clinical record. Unreported absences are marked as "No-Show" (NS), while reported absences are marked as "Not Attended" (NA).

    • DMV Compliance: If you are driving under an Affidavit of Enrollment (AOE), the DMV requires mandatory weekly attendance. We are required to report this attendance to the state; non-compliance can lead to the immediate revocation of your driving privileges without warning.

    • The "Four-Week" Rule: Per Colorado State Law, if you are driving under an AOE, four (4) consecutive No-Shows require an automatic discharge from the program.

    • Attendance Contracts: Inconsistent attendance disrupts your therapeutic progress. If you accumulate three or more absences, you may be placed on a formal Attendance Contract.

    • Non-Compliance Discharge: Violating an attendance contract or failing to engage in the program may result in a discharge for non-compliance. If you are discharged for non-compliance, you may be ineligible to re-enroll with Counseling Center of the Rockies.

  • At Counseling Center of the Rockies, we believe that a safe and respectful environment is essential for personal growth and recovery. Because our groups are conducted via Telehealth, every participant shares the responsibility of protecting the "virtual therapeutic space."

    1. Confidentiality in a Digital Space

To protect the privacy of all group members, you must adhere to the following:

    • Privacy is Mandatory: You must be in a private, quiet room with a closed door.

    • No Observers: Children, partners, roommates, or friends are not permitted to be in the room or within earshot during your session.

    • Prohibited Locations: You may not join a session from a car, coffee shop, workplace, or any public area. These environments violate the confidentiality rights of your peers.

    • "What stays in Group": Any personal information shared by others during the session must remain strictly confidential.

    2. Respectful Engagement

Healthy dialogue is the foundation of our program. We expect all participants to engage with curiosity and compassion:

    • Ownership of Speech: Use “I statements” to share your feelings and reflections (e.g., "I feel frustrated when..." rather than "You make me feel...").

    • Thoughtful Participation: While thoughts don't need to be perfectly formulated, your language must remain polite, considerate, and non-judgmental.

    • Conflict Resolution: If you have a disagreement with a peer or a clinician, please address it professionally after the group session via email or by requesting a private individual meeting.

    3. Conduct & Disciplinary Actions

To ensure the best experience for our therapeutic community, disruptive behavior is not permitted.

    • Professionalism: You must refrain from behavior that is hostile, argumentative, uncooperative, or otherwise disruptive to the group process.

    • The Warning System: Clinicians will provide one verbal warning for behavior that does not meet expectations.

    • Removal from Group: Individuals who continue to disregard these standards will be removed from the Zoom session. If removed, you will not receive credit for the session and may be marked as a "No-Show."

    • Review & Discharge: If you are removed for behavior, a clinical review will be required before you can return. Persistent behavioral issues or lack of progress may result in a discharge for non-compliance.

Note: Being discharged for behavioral non-compliance may result in a permanent loss of eligibility to re-enroll with our agency.

  • At Counseling Center of the Rockies, we are committed to providing a safe, sober, and productive environment for all participants. Attending a session while under the influence of any substance—prescribed or otherwise—compromises your ability to engage in the therapeutic process and can be highly disruptive or triggering to your peers.

    Client Requirements

    • The "Four-Hour" Rule: You must be free from the influence of any mind-altering substances for a minimum of four hours prior to your scheduled group. If you are taking regular prescription medications that may cause impairment, please work with our administration to select a group time that falls at least four hours before or after your dosage.

    • Clinician Assessment: If a clinician has a reasonable suspicion that you are under the influence during a session, you will be immediately removed from the Zoom group.

    • Loss of Credit: If removed for suspected intoxication, you will not receive credit for that session and will be marked as a "No-Show" in your clinical record.

    • Mandatory Review: Before you are permitted to return to any group, you will be required to attend a private individual meeting with a clinician to discuss the incident and determine the appropriate next steps for your treatment.

    • Program Discharge: Attending group while under the influence is a serious violation of our program standards and may result in an immediate discharge for non-compliance.

Note: A discharge for violating the Intoxication Policy may result in a permanent loss of eligibility to re-enroll with Counseling Center of the Rockies.
